
The spread of the Urban Development Boundary has undoubtedly altered the context and fabric of South Florida causing surrounding areas, such as the Everglades, to adapt to the changes. The UDB marks a point of transition between urban life that lies east of the UDB and the natural environment that lies west of the UDB; juxtaposition between the two extremes becomes apparent. From the west coast to the east, the landscape undergoes an evolution-like process as spaces transform and transition.
